behind the lens

From a fairly young age, I was captured by photography - the visual impact, the recording of history, the ability to pass an actual moment from one generation to another.

Both my grandfather and father, it seemed, always had a camera on hand and I've been the lucky recipient of boxes & boxes & boxes of slides to sort through.  Back in the day, they knew how to use those tiny numbers on their cameras and the art of composition as they captured the most amazing shots - full of color and full of story.  I am digressing, which is so me, but wanting to tell this part of my story - this love for great photography; of capturing that one moment in time with bold color, with a softness, mixed with a bit of storytelling too.

I've become addicted, for a lack of a better term, to great photography and have become a follower of some amazing artists (both local & throughout the world). This past Christmas, my daughter found a cool little Canon, pocket-sized camera in her stocking.. which has been used quite heavily by me as I find my way back to being behind the lens.   Sharing some recent work that I've done to promote an event or two..
