A huge thank you to WDIY - Lehigh Valley's local NPR station, and Ms. Eleanor Bobrow, who allowed me a most wonderful opportunity to be part of its Wednesday night feature: Take Charge of Your Life, hosted by Ellie. The showed, taped in Sept, ran last Wednesday and will have repeats that will be aired in the future. This was an amazing opportunity to discuss how "I've taken charge of my life", how eg came to life + the scoop on the culinary & cultural tour to Naples, Italy - CucinaN - slated for April '08 (more to come on that eg event.)
~ many thanks to my children, great friends and new explorations who keep me on track!

a first wedding: May 2007
Marcia & John - {their story} 10 years in the making
wanting a fun & laid-back event, an outdoor wedding was held on the grounds of John's parent's home where vows were exchanged under blossoming trees, and candles lit as the sun set behind Easton's hills. An incredible array of artisanal cheeses, breads, pates, meats, and dried fruits & nuts was served during cocktail hour. Guests then seated themselves to tables draped with brilliant fire-orange, sari-inspired linens, matched with white Ikea dinner plates. Orchids, gently broken from their stems, decorated 140 plates... and the centerpieces: rustic pails filled with italian waters, french wines & french lemonades. A buffet, prepared by Oswalds Mill, included roasted local asparagus with white truffle oil, whole spice crusted legs of free range lamb, wild striped Bass & Salmon - hot smoked on site, rhubarb compote, and a vegetarian option- Persian Kookoo.
The groom, a pilot, was the inspiration behind the wedding cake's surprise topper: a vintage toy plane with a banner proclaiming 'Finally Married!'
As the afternoon mixed into night, the fabulous sounds of The Trophy Husbands played into Sunday morning as calls for "more songs" were shouted from the dancing crowd. (so many people, too little room in the dance area) resulted in tables being quickly moved outside the tent to allow the very young and the very old to groove to the cool cool songs performed by Joe Sparta & band.
{thank you Marcia & John for allowing me to be part of this very special day!}
